This study was focused on the relationships between chick length and weight of egg, live weight and chick quality in domestic goose chicks at daily age. Chick length; it is a method that fast, reproducible and does not harm the animal. In this study, a significant positive correlation was found between chick length and weight of egg, chick weight and chick quality. In other words, as egg weight, chick weight and chick quality increase, chick length also increases. Since the parameters used in chick quality assessment vary from person to person and are time-consuming, it may be advisable to take chick length as a criterion for evaluating chick quality in order to make the work practical and to make the quality reproducible.

In this paper, we investigated the temperature effect on photovoltaic (PV) cell parameters such as series and parallel resistances, diode ideality factor, and diode saturation current, which they have not been considered in the reported stepwise modeling. The present work aims to improve available models used in the modeling and simulation of PV modules to support the researcher and power project developer. We determined all the required temperature-dependent parameters to model with high accuracy our simulated PV module using Simulink/MATLAB software. To validate the method, we have setup and studied a 36-cell-50W solar panel with different radius of curvature to assess solar power outputs under varying irradiance and temperature conditions. For application, Tabuk region (Saudi Arabia) was chosen based on its location and climatic conditions. The method provided conformity to the measured power outputs for varying Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) and temperature conditions. Depending on the radius of curvature, an increase from 14.4 W to 25.8 W in the PV module power output was measured in the range of 307 W/m2 to 526 W/m2\nof absorbed solar radiation. The curved PV module shows slightly higher power variation with temperature as compared to the flat one. Above 25 oC, the power output is about 20% less at a maximum temperature of 65 oC. When the temperature drops below 25 oC, the power outputs increased about 6 % and 11.5% for corresponding temperatures of 15 oC and 5 oC, respectively.

The groundwaters of the High Melrir catchment area (Macta basin, NW Algeria) constitute the main drinking water supply in the NW Algeria. Thus, it remains under strong pressures to meet the growing needs with regards to the provision of drinking water and irrigation. An attempt to identify the main geochemical processes and their respective effects on waters has been made on twenty-five (25) water samples, collected from the principal aquifers of the High Melrir catchment area (i.e., Hauterivian carbonates and Barremian sandstones). All samples were subjected to a systematic geochemical study by the assessment of the main physico-chemical parameters (pH, Temperature, Electrical conductivity and chemical analysis). It appeared, from the hydrogeochemical investigation, that water facies were mainly chlorinated calcic type for the Hauterivian carbonates and magnesian chlorinated type for Barremian sandy aquifer. Water quality index (WQI) was also calculated to evaluate the potential use of water for drinking. The integration of its spatial variation by a geographical information system is a useful step to further assess the real water quality and its distribution. According to the computed WQI values, waters quality of most samples (18 samples) was \"good\" (72%), but not for the remaining (7 samples; 28%).\nThe aptitude for irrigation was evaluated via several parameters including electrical conductivity (EC), sodium absorption ratio (SAR), sodium percentage (Na%), residual alkalinity (RSC), permeability index (PI), coefficient of Kelly (KR) and magnesium risk (MH). The obtained results showed a weak sodium risk for almost all underground samples, but a high to very high salinity risk. These results favored the use of those groundwaters for irrigation on all soils without the threat of exchangeable sodium.

PURPOSE:\nWe demonstrated that doubling time of adult B-SMCs were markedly higher than of fetal derived cells as a preliminary investigation. Effects of co-culturing fetal and adult B-SMCs on protein profiles and their growth properties were investigated.\n\nMATERIAL AND METHODS:\nBladder tissue samples were obtained from adult and fetus rabbits and cultivated in conventional culture condition. 2x106 cells were collected from second passages of each cell populations and were seeded dividing into five groups: isolated Adult (A) and Fetal (F), A+F in ½ proportion, 3A + F and A + 3F. Population doubling time of cells were calculated after 48 and 72 hours. Cell suspensions were processed for total protein extraction and estimated by spectrophotometer. Protein solutions were run in SDS page gel electrophoresis and visualized bands in groups were compared.\n\nRESULTS: \nMajority of the cells in culture, displayed typical smooth muscle cell morphology and stained positive for α-myosin and actin. PDT at 72 hours for A, F, A+F, 3A+F and A+3F were calculated as 89.4, 92, 89.4, 127.9, 145 hours, respectively. Protein electrophoresis at 48 hours of incubation showed a discrete protein band at 80 kDa in adult cells, whereas a band at 32 kDa was detected only in co-cultured cells. Protein profiles after 72 hours of incubation, demonstrated no significant differences and were similar in terms of protein profiles.\n\nDISCUSSION: \nCo-culturing of adult and fetus B-SMCs resulted in an increase in the PDT and alterations in protein profiles although each cell population retained their phenotypes.

Chicken paw skin was available in enormous quantity as by-products or wasted in the Ethiopian poultry industry. Chicken paw skin is neither consumed as food by people nor converted into leather and leather products by tannery due to lack of awareness and technology in Ethiopia. The aim of this study was to developments of highly fashionable leather and leather products from poultry by-products/wastes. Raw chicken paw skin was characterized by using different chemical and physical testing and converted into leather and leather products by using a suitable and eco-friendly tanning method. Under this study organoleptic property, tensile strength, tear strength, visual assessment, water absorption, properties of chicken leather, and leather products were made from paw skin. Chicken paw leather has a unique grain structure, good strength and an attractive look like chicken paw skin was produced. Chicken paw leather has good physical properties which to some extent similar to exotic animals was used to produce for any small and medium leather product. Under this study characterization of chicken poultry waste and feasibility of leather paw skin also studied. Chicken paw leather was suitable for highly fashionable leather which was used for leather medium products with low manufacturing costs.

Achieving the planned production targets in an actual mining operation is one of the key factors indicating the success in a mining operation. To this end in addition to the geological and economic uncertainties, daily operational challenges, including variable and often unpredictable reliability level of equipment and mining faces (working condition) are of the influencing factors in strategic mine planning. These challenges are in conflict with the production targets and economic goals of the mining companies. Therefore, to have a more realistic and reliable mine planning it is inevitable to consider the historical reliability of the mining operational subsystems and components in determining the mining production rate (PR). This will lead to minimize the deviation from the defined economical and production targets in the short plans and consequently for long-term plans. Hence, in this paper, the identification and coverage of low-reliability subsystems have been undertaken with the development of a statistical model. The objective of the statistical model is to minimize the deviation of operational PR from planned PR and increase the open pit mining production system reliability. These achieved by re-arrangement of equipment and adding equipment for low-reliability sub system. By applying the developed model in Sungun Copper Mine, results show that, by identifying areas and equipment with low reliability and strengthening its production subsystems, the reliability of mining operation increase from 56% to 81% on average.

Ignoring the dynamic and uncertain nature of the mining in the planning phase causes the mining operation to be a system with low reliability. This low reliability usually leads to the deviation of the real operation from the planned economic and production goals of the mining companies. Deviations may lead to adverse effects such as reduction in the net present value and mineral recovery, and increment in the production costs. One way to reduce deviations and increasing the reliability of the planned production system is to incorporate the operational reliability of the production sub-systems in the mathematical model of the production planning. In this paper a mixed integer goal programming (MIGP) model is presented to optimize the production planning system based on the five desired goals of the mining companies namely; a) maximization of mining production rate (PR), b) maximization of the PR reliability, c) minimization of deviations in optimal grade, d) minimization of deviations of desired tonnage feed to different destination and e) minimizing operating costs. By applying the developed model in Sungun Copper Mine (SCM), in two cases, with incorporate mining subsystems reliability and without it in the MIGP model, leads to deviation from actual PR, with 8.5% and 28% respectively. For model validation, by limiting the number of working faces (to 5), mining operation PR converges to MIGP PR. Additionally, a maximum deviation of 5% has been obtained which indicates a high level of trust in the modeling.

Introduction: COVID-19 infection has spread with the development of the pandemic and is transmitted by respiratory droplets. Severe and critically ill patients may deteriorate rapidly and progress to multiple organ failure and death. It is imperative to determine the prognostic values associated with this disease. We aimed to test the strength of the bun/creatinine ratio in predicting mortality in critically ill patients in the infected group.\n Material and method: 158 patient data were included in our study after ethics committee approval. The blood results in intensive care units were analyzed, and the patients were grouped as group 1 and group 2. Age, gender, comorbid conditions, bun creatinine, and other blood values were compared statistically. With this comparison, the effects on mortality and clinical features were evaluated. \nResults: The study included 158 patients between Mar 31 and Dec 31, 2020. Routine blood tests were seen in these patients according to the intensive care evaluation criteria. It was observed that bun, creatinine, IL-6, CRP values were higher, and GFR, total protein values were lower in the patients who lost their lives. The bun/creatinine ratio was similar between the groups.\n Conclusion: It was found that urea and creatinine could help in demonstrating mortality in critical intensive care patients. The bun/creatinine ratio was not associated with mortality in covid 19 infected critical intensive care patients. Studies with larger numbers of patients are needed.

The main focus of this study is to investigate the role of sports activities in developing students\' social maturity. Each individual is naturally introduced to the social environment, family, group, social class, dialect, religion and eventually makes different social associations with everyone. The qualities of a young person\'s social environment influence change in thinking about how to think and move forward, method of guidance, pricing and discipline, and illustration. This setting includes home, school, university, neighborhoods, religious organizations, and legal permission. It is widely recognized that it is necessary to reduce social maturity for fear of doing wrong. Indoor sports activities are considered to play a compelling role. Sports activities, sports volunteering, sports initiatives, sports facilities and career plans create people and groups, encourage a more beneficial and profitable way of living, and create inclusive groups and neighborhoods that give way to the communal personality and sense of place. Population of the instituted study was all Students of Govt. College participating in sports activities in Bannu Division. The sample was selected from the given population according to the L.R Gay sampling formula. In survey was used and data was collected via questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistics were both used. It was concluded that sports activities influence students socially. Based on these results, the researcher made some recommendations. Healthy participation in sports activities develops students\' social maturity and it is therefore recommended that students participate in various sports activities in addition to their studies.

Remdesivir has been approved by the FDA for emergency use in the management of SARS-CoV-2 infection, however, clinical trials involving the use of remdesivir against COVID-19 have demonstrated inconsistent results. Thus, this article aims to determine the potential of remdesivir as a therapeutic agent in the treatment of COVID-19 by reviewing the most relevant published papers. PubMed, Scopus, Web of Sciences, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and clinical trial registries were searched for studies of remdesivir against SARS-CoV-2 and meta-analysis was performed. From the initial screening of 541 papers, 15 articles have been finally analyzed in this review. There is no compelling evidence supporting the potential role of remdesivir in terms of safety and efficacy in COVID-19 treatment except the drug can shorten the time to recovery by only a few days. Based on available evidence, it is proposed that remdesivir monotherapy has not been shown to be effective in minimizing COVID-19 mortality.

Nanoemulsion of Garlic oil, D-Limonene and Synergistic combination of both were having remarkable attraction as antifungal as well as antipests properties. The formulated combinations were stabilized and particle size was characterized by using Malvern Zeta sizer between the particle size of formulation in the range of 10.0 to 25.0 nm. The formulated mixture compound were characterized for stability, pH, particle size etc. for further evaluation of mixture compounds as anti-pest and anti fungal use in the various crops.

Exploring the Arctic for oil has always been considered extremely technically challenging and associated with dangers such as a harsh environment, especially ice cover and low temperatures, among others. This impact on operations in the Arctic has always been a difficult task to solve. However, technological developments have made it possible to develop solutions that can also be used in the Arctic regions. Currently in this region there are a number of different oil terminals (usually submersible - located on the seabed)) where specialized shuttle tankers, which are equipped with bow loading system (BLS) and optionally also with bottom submerged loading system STL are berthed and the cargo transfer is carried out Offshore. In this paper we are going to describe the main problems related to the exploration of underwater oil and gas deposit in the Arctic Zone with the use of Submerged Turret Loading system STL and Single Anchor Loading system SAL, taking into account the hydro-meteorological boundary conditions (weather limitations) enabling ships to carry out safe cargo & manoeuvring operation Offshore. All the systems listed above (STL, SAL) are typically used for short term mooring and offshore loading of liquid cargoes such as crude oil or natural gas LNG.

Purpose of this study is to assess the attitude and knowledge among medical students towards Medical-Dental collaborative practice.\n\nMethods:\n A cross sectional questionnaire survey was done on medical students of 3rd year, 4thyear and interns of medical colleges in coastal South India. 234 responses obtained and correlated with age, gender and year of study of participants. The questionnaire consisted of 11 questions with 5-point likert scale response to elicit their attitude and knowledge regarding medical-dental collaborative practice. \n \nResults:\n Most of the students agreed that oral health was an integral part of systemic health, but statistically significant (p<0.05) participants disagreed on attending compulsory rotation in dentistry, moreover participants did not agree to physician’s active role in motivating their patients for regular dental check-up. 82 % of the medical students are of opinion that dental check-up should be included in the health packages under health insurance. Statistically significant (p<0.05) difference seen among 3rd year & 4thyear students, interns and also it was seen that females have given better response towards medical-dental collaboration.\n \nConclusion:\n Even though medical students showed fairly positive attitude and knowledge towards dentistry, the analysis within the study groups showed that knowledge and attitude regarding the collaborative practice worsened over the academic years among the medical students. To break the stereotypes, continuing education is very useful means to foster collaboration to improving resource efficiency and the standard of care.

The study is based on a wide range of sources: archival materials, published documents, laws and legislation, memoir literature, journalistic publications and periodicals, publications of political parties, reference and fiction. The monograph is intended primarily for specialists in European history and politics in the period between the two world wars. It serves as a basis for new scientific explorations of a special historical and synthetic nature, both in the history and politics of Romania and in the countries and peoples of Central and Eastern Europe in the interwar period.

The spread of COVID-19 has been statistically analyzed with meteorological factors such as varying ecogeographical regions and climatic conditions i.e., the temperature during the year 2020-2021. Although the transmission of the virus can be mainly detected by the humidity, still the temperature imparts a moderate effect on the COVID-19 pandemic. The present study represents the effect of coastal regions on the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 in the southern hemisphere of India have been analyzed statistically with the change in climatic condition and its interaction during the pandemic period i.e., March 2020 to May 2021. The analysis of the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases based on the coastal and non-coastal districts of ecogeographical regions of Kerala has shown less impact than the different regions by using the ANOVA test. The present study can be utilized to frame a strict guideline to restrict the spread of COVID-19 cases.

Alternatively, investigate the physical properties of space objects on the basis of the theory of vortex gravitation, cosmology and cosmogony. The obtained results allow us to evaluate and compare the above objective, physical theories.

Polymer embedded metal nanofiller is considered as a great choice to achieve high energy storage capacitors. Our earlier experimental work reported that capacitors fabricated with dielectrics consisting of aluminum (Al) core dispersed in highly ferroelectric β-phase polyvinilydine fluoride (PVDF) polymer, showed an increase in dielectric permittivity K of the nanocomposite from 12 for pure PVDF polymer to a value of 23.6 when PVDF was embedded with a 20% volume loading of Al-Al2O3 core–shell nanoparticles. In this paper we report on K values calculation using a modified effective medium theories (EMT). We simulated the system considering less ordered Al-Al2O3 nanoparticles in PVDF matrix in order to mimic the experimental configuration of elaborated nanocomposites and so to feedback the experimental work. The AC/DC module is selected in COMSOL Multiphysics software, and in plane electric currents are applied to the physical model. The modified EMT with equations representing the ferroelectric nature of the polymer-based core-shell is used to determine the composite\'s effective electrical characteristics. The percolation data analysis is utilized to forecast the maximum theoretical K value, electrical field, and polarization of the nanocomposite including shell interaction. The results of 3D models with varying filler loadings show a significant increase in electrical permittivity of the composite (K = 2800) as compared to electrical permittivity of bare polymer. However, results also indicate a drop in net polarization by a factor of 3 if the embedded core-shells come into contact.

Introduction: Urinary tract infection is one of the most frequent nosocomial events in diabetic women during hospitalization in Portugal.\nObjectives: This study aimed to estimate the rates of urinary tract infections in diabetic women in-hospital and to identify the potential risk factors for these infections.\nPatients and Methods: A case–control study was conducted of 331 discharged patients with confirmed urinary tract infection and 1070 controls without urinary tract infection was carried out between August 1st to December 31st ,2018 to study the risk for nosocomial infections. We used medical data from the National Hospital Morbidity Database provided by the Central Administration of the Health System. \nResults: Of the 1401 women, there were 331 (23.6%) cases of nosocomial urinary tract infection events. After risk adjustment model, the stage (3) of the severity of type 2 diabetes mellitus (OR=1.296; 95% IC =0.582-2.886), the medical treatment (OR=7.215; 95% IC=4.505-11.554) and the stage (3) of the co-morbidity cerebrovascular disease (OR=2.018; 95% IC=1.192-3.417) were found to be the risk factors for urinary tract infection events in the five hospitals considered.\nConclusion: The co-morbidity cerebrovascular disease and stage 3 of severity of type 2 diabetes mellitus were risk factors for nosocomial urinary tract infection event. Doctors and nurses should pay more attention and set practical and effective guidelines for the prevention of UTI in-hospital.

The basic object of this experimental work was to study the impact of turning process parameters on the surface roughness of AISI 420 martensitic stainless during the CNC turning and developed a mathematical model. AISI420 (Martensitic stainless steel) was selected for machining with precise vibration less machinery. Rotational speed, feed rate, and depth of cut (DOC) were selected as input variables, while surface roughness was set as an output parameter. L27 orthogonal array (OA) was applied to optimize the process parameters and ANOVA test was conducted and a regression model was developed. Through the CNC machine, the idea of near net shape manufacturing (NNM) can be possible through optimization of machining parameters. The rotational speed selected 1000, 1500, 2000 rpm and feed picked as 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 mm/rev and depth of cut were selected as 0.25, 0.45, and 0.65 mm for observation. The best parameters were obtained was at 1000 rpm, 0.65 mm depth of cut, and 0.3 mm/rev is the best machining parameter for surface roughness value.
